Labor Unions Target Girl Scouts and The Salvation Army
Labor unions want to eliminate secret ballots when they try to organize a private business. Along with that, they want to eliminate all restrictions on their entering private businesses in order to intimidate employees during unionizing drives. To that end, union leaders are pushing Obama’s NLRB regulators to rule that any business denying access to union organizers will be required also to ban Girl Scouts selling cookies and Salvation Army volunteers collecting Christmas donations for the poor.
Labor unions have always, in the socialist tradition, been all about class warfare between workers and employers, with no concern for what ills their action may bring to the rest of society. Businesses can’t survive unless they provide what the public wants. Destructive labor unions, however, survive under the welfare state, because they are integral parts of liberal-progressive socialism.
