Senator Obama is a new sort of social and political revolutionary, one who promises to transform society and human nature through the magic of his oratory and charismatic personality.
In sharp contrast to Christian justification through the blood of Jesus Christ, shed to redeem believers from sin and death, Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin believed that the purification of blood shed in violent political revolution would effect a transformation in the fundamental nature of those who participated in the revolution. Heaven on earth was attainable, in liberal-progressive doctrine, through the agency of the collectivized political state.
From the bloody violence of Marx’s liberal-progressive revolution would come a cadre of revolutionary leaders who could create the New Soviet Man, the sort of person who thought and acted only for the collective good, a person unlike any human known to history.
Such a person would be the antithesis of the individualist whose rights to political liberty, the right to be free from arbitrary government action, were guaranteed by our Constitution’s Bill of Rights.
Senator Obama promises the same ends as those envisioned by Marx and Lenin, but without the violence. Lenin said that social justice emanates from the business end of a rifle barrel. Senator Obama proposes instead to change our traditional politics of conflict and to institute Marxian principles of social justice by mesmerizing us with his dulcet tongue. He promises to heal our social and economic ills with his personal charisma, his personal magic.
