The self-righteous Norwegians, no longer having a moral compass, have hired a philosopher to tell them what to do. Any people who could award the Nobel Peace Prize to Yasser Arafat are so debauched by anti-religious, secular materialism that recognizing the difference between good and evil is beyond their capacities.
-------------------
From the Middle Ages until the 20th century, Scandinavia was home to decent, moral, and hard-working people with a strong sense of right and wrong conduct. No longer.
In the second half of the 20th century, the Scandinavian countries sank into the cesspool of socialism’s secular materialism. Sexual promiscuity, anti- Christian attitudes, sloth, and welfare-state dependency are synonyms for what passes as personal character in these Baltic nations.
Scandinavian parents are happy to see their children experimenting with sexual promiscuity. After all, to the “pure of heart” socialist, there is no right or wrong.
Sweden, for example, has some of the highest percentages in the world of workers who just don’t show up for work every week. It has the highest percentage of people on permanent “disability” at full pay, people who candidly admits that they simply prefer that lifestyle to working for a living. Swedes’ work output per capita is far behind the numbers in the United States, and the gap is widening each year.
Nonetheless, from their self-appointed positions as arbiters of international conduct, these degraded people feel free to condemn the policies of anti-socialist American Presidents. You can bet, however, that we would hear no complaints from the far north if the Scandinavians’ fellow-socialist Bill Clinton were still in office and more aggressively pursuing his own proclamation that regime change in Iraq was a matter of public policy.
The Wall Street Journal’s December 1, 2005, edition reports that Norway, “Home to the Nobel Peace Prize and a plethora of human rights and peace groups...” has hired a professional philosopher to tell them what to do with the windfall revenues accruing from Norway’s stake in North Sea oil production.
Could it be that Norwegians, some of whom may be familiar with their own history, feel a subliminal twinge of shame and guilt for their historical source of wealth? Or is it just that our military action in the Middle East harmed the source of that historical wealth?
Scandinavians, like corrupt French, Russian, and other European officials, have benefitted mightily from taking Arab gold for degraded, immoral activities.
The French, Russians, and others happily sold to Saddam Hussein sophisticated weaponry and nuclear weapons technology, paid for with blood-for-oil money flowing from the UN-administered Oil for Humanitarian Aid program.
As I wrote in The Pot Calling the Kettle Black:
“The Scandinavian Vikings burst upon the scene with terrible raids in the British Isles and Continental Europe beginning in the 700s AD. Peaceful villages near the ocean or accessible by rivers were attacked without warning, the Vikings looting whatever wealth they could and carrying off as many of the inhabitants as possible.
This sudden irruption was no accident. It coincided with the devastation of Western Europe by the Islamic hordes coming out of the Middle East in the early period of Muslim conquests of Eastern and Western Roman Empire cities.
The connection was the sudden wealth of the Muslims from the gold and silver mines they had taken in North Africa and Western India. The Muslims wanted slaves to make their lives easier, and they now had the wealth to pay for them. The Scandinavian Vikings obliged, supplying a torrent of slaves, all of whom were caucasians.
Moving via long boat across the Baltic and down the rivers of Russia southward toward the Muslim capitals, the Vikings established Russia’s ancient capital Kiev as a slave trading post. So vast were the numbers of caucasian slaves captured in these Slavic areas and sold to the Muslims that the ethnic term Slav became the word slave.
Perhaps the Swedes should just keep their criticisms to themselves henceforward.”
