Prosecute the New York Times
Commentary magazine’s senior editor Gabriel Schoenfeld presents a thorough review of historical applications of the Espionage Act of 1917 and concludes that there is solid basis for legal action against the New York Times for disclosing details about the administration’s secret monitoring of al Queda communications. The Times argues that its disclosure did no harm to our national security efforts, but Mr. Schoenfeld quotes examples from the Times reporters’ own texts demonstrating that this is false.
