The View From 1776

July 14th is Bastille Day, a precipitating event in the 1789 French Revolution.
In the last decades of the 19th century and throughout the 20th century and into the 21st century, liberal-progressive intellectuals and academics have steadily demeaned the Judeo-Christian morality of individual economic and moral responsibility. The nation’s founding generations and the ethos supporting the Constitution are presented to callow students as perpetrators of crimes against humanity. At the same time students are taught that the true spirit of our 1776 War of Independence is to be found in the social justice “equality” of the French Revolution.
To get a better sense of liberal-progressivism’s inherent barbarism read Daniel Flynn’s Bastille Daze.
