More Hypocrisy
Senator Obama expresses pious sentiments about family integrity, but actively supports abortion, the practice that is most destructive to families.
In the Harvard Study you quote, the proportion of children in single parent households has been falling since 1997. Isn’t this trend evidence against your thesis?
Since Obama has repeatedly stated that he does not like abortion and believes it should be as rare as possible, are you not misstating his position by saying he “actively supports” it?

- The Holy BibleObama is trying to balance two systems of value and priority that oppose one another: Christianity and humanistic Marxist Collectivism. To do so, he must feign growth, learning, wisdom, and honesty.
He is a liar.
He wants to be elected. Only ignorant fools will credit him with visionary perception. He is unstable, untrustworthy, and gutless. He is following the one who failed the greatest IQ Test in the universe. His name is Lucifer.
Anyone who follows Lucifer is a loser - and anyone who follows him (Obama) is a loser.
Where is the character and virtue the buffoons credit him with? None.

vincit veritasPosted by Jim Baxter on 06/24 at 09:18 AMObama seems to change churches as often as he changes his political positions--whenever convenient or necessary! His protestations notwithstanding, I would strongly believe his faith in REASON (his own that is)is stronger than his reverence for life. Hopefully, when he is older and wiser, he will look back, like Nicholas Rubashov does in “Darkness at Noon” and realize that he spent 40 years “running amuck--the running amuck of pure reason.” Then he might comprehend that “Perhaps it does not suit man to be completely free from old bonds, from the steadying brakes of ‘Thou shalt not,” and ‘Thou mayst not,’ and to be allowed to tear along straight toward the goal. . And perhaps that reason alone is a defective compass.” However, such hopes are dimmed if you look at his and his wife’s alma maters--she had 4 years of exposure at Princeton to Professor Singer who has suggested “abortion” need not stop at birth--an unviable human infant’s life is less valuable than a healthy pig’s life--and Singer is their professor of bio-medical ethics! And I believe that both Obama and his wife are admirers of Princeton’s Anne-Marie Slaughter who advocates stronger world organizations to rule over and discipline nation states that violate United Nation rules and regulations. A nation ruled by their type of secular intellectual thinking is what Arthur Koestler warns us about when he writes: “Perhaps now would come the time of great darkness.”
Posted by bill greene on 06/25 at 06:53 AMMr. Greene infers that because Mrs. Obama attended university at which a professor with extreme views taught, that she and Mr. Obama have adopted those views. Taken to an extreme, they could be accused of harboring every viewpoint of every professor at such a university, which is clearly impossible.
The whole point of going to an eminent university is to be exposed to as wide a range of ideas and information as possible, and to learn how to evaluate the validity of those views. That is how we become educated. If the goal is to be able to understand the world, to be able to winnow the truth from the lies, it does little good to attend a cloister where only certain sanitized views are aired.
It is by no means a foregone conclusion that because you sit in a class taught by a radical conservative (for instance) that you will necessary come out of that class adopting those views.
Posted by on 06/25 at 07:53 AMHenrie, you, like Obama, selectively yak about what in your opinion is not true of his opinions.
Why do you lack an opinion of what is true of his opinion. What are the principles/criteria to which he ‘bends the knee’ of his heart and mind?
He never commits to ‘standards’ that define his value-system - either Christianity or Marxist liberation theology, which he apparently blends together oxy-moron style. More patty-cake stuff.
After all, no one can think or choose at a level higher than their pre-chosen criteria. Thus, you both have a problem with reason, logic, and integrity. More to come…

vincit veritasPosted by Jim Baxter on 06/25 at 09:41 AMLet me tell you a story about how an abortion could have kept a family together. In 1960, a friend of mine got pregnant in her early teens, gave birth to the child and put it up for adoption. Abortion was not an issue. Fast forward to 2000. Child does search and finds his birth mother, my friend. My friend’s husband knew about the child. The child finds my friend, and initially, the reunion, etc. was wonderful. Well, this child turned out to be a miserable SOB and blamed all of his ills on the birth mother due to the fact that the agency that handled the adoption lied about the birth mother saying that she was a drug addict which was the farthest thing from the truth. The child caused so much havoc in the family, the my friend and her husband are now divorced and one of her daughters will have nothing to do with her. My friend wished then, and wishes now, that she had been able to abort this ungrateful turd.
So what was that about abortions breaking up families?
Posted by on 06/25 at 02:13 PMP.S. What many people chose to ignore is that many pro-choice people are not in favor of abortion and feel that it’s not the government’s place to tell anyone what to do with their bodies.
So, in a nutshell, I’m pro-choice, but anti-abortion.
Anyone’s head explode yet?
And before anyone goes spouting off about me being a New England liberal, please note that I was born and raised in the oh so conservative South.
Posted by on 06/25 at 02:17 PMTara--If you are personally “against abortion” and even more against Big Government telling you what to do, then you really should not support the pro-choice advocates. Pro-choice activist organizations continually lobby legislators and governmental regulatory agencies for governmental funding and promotion of abortion procedures. They oppose reasonable restrictions against late term abortions, and seek to restrict alternative solutions to “undesirable” pregnancies. Accept the fact that pro-choice advocates are just as zealous about gaining governmental coercion to enforce their view as are the pro-life advocates. And many of the latter are not 100% against all abortions, but are more interested in limiting and discouraging the practice. There is a middle ground, and if you are really against abortion--especially the most gruesome forms, and are really against governmental interference in personal lives, then you should reconsider which side you support. One’s head need not explode from recognizing the complexity of this issue. There are extremists on both sides of every question nowadays and they prevent the rational commonsense compromises that marked American government in the past. The truth may lie somewhere in the middle, but isn’t it reasonable that, if in doubt, one should lean to Not killing the kid, ot at least to not encouraging or having taxpayers pay for the killing?
Posted by bill greene on 06/26 at 05:08 AMDepreciation of Individual Value is a fundamental consequence of abortion. Every person has less value as a result.
Those who support abortion-cannibalism are suffering from an obvious case of Visionary Stupidity: they cannot foresee consequences into the unknown future.
A necessary need on the part of leadership (parental, educational, spiritual, political, etc.) is the ability to envision consequences prior to choosing. That is only possible if choices are made in accord with criteria/ standards/principles that are not man-made. (Nature and natures GOD)
So where is “Mr. Oxy-moron” on principle? He doesn’t know himself. He tips the hat to Christianity and supports abortion, Marxist collectivism, and liberation theology. “Mr. Oxy-moron.” Contradiction? Hypocrite!
