Why No Representative In Paris?

Many major political leaders marched in Paris to show solidarity with the French nation following assassination of four Jewish hostages and eleven staff members at Charlie Hebdo.  Absent was any high-level official from the United States.

Why?  Presumably because the Obama administration does not recognize the existence of Muslim jihadist terror attacks, sloughing them off as “workplace violence,” which is to be handled as a routine legal matter.

  1. The US ambassador was present at the march. In 20/20 hindsight the administration agreed that sending a representative would have advisable had there been advanced notice of the gathering.

And, contrary to your implication, the person who made the "workplace violence" quip was Rudy Giuliani, not President Obama.
