  1. The conservatives are always carping about the need for cutting down on the size of government. The two small budget items that are cut does just that. Now we may disagree whether a government program is needed to place guns in the cockpits of airliners, or whether voucher programs make good educational policy, but at least let us agree that these are cuts.

    By the way, Thomas, what do you think of Romney's chances in Michigan? If he loses, do you think he is in trouble for the GOP nomination?
