    Whoever ends up in the White House will have plopped on his desk an enormous bag of problems, thanks to the breathtaking incompetence and irresponsibility of his predecessor.

    Kagen does not offer an opinion whether the steady Obama would be a better bet than the wild and erratic McCain or, in our worst nightmare, should McCain's cancer remission not hold, the clueless, loose cannon Palin.
