Krugman rejects businessmen’s caution in the face of uncertainty.  If they won’t spend, it’s the government’s duty to confiscate their money and spend it for them.  Franklin Roosevelt espoused the same policy in the 1930s, making it the longest and deepest depression in our history. 

At the personal level, of course, that is exactly what Obama is already doing: confiscating our income and savings via tax increases and inflation and spending it as liberal-progressive intellectuals direct.

Note also that Obama is making failure to accept government medical price controls a criminal offense.  “Don’t kid yourselves; this administration means to enforce ObamaCare by throwing people into jail.”
