As George Orwell observed, Big Brother’s misuse of language, NewSpeak, confuses his subjects and facilitates imposition of crushing regulations before they are fully understood.
The Obama administration’s fuzzy new terminology for describing the inhuman brutality of Islamic jihadists is an example of NewSpeak. It gives us a glimpse of the underlying arbitrary, and deeply evil, aims of Democratic/Socialist government. Much more is at stake than Senator Kerry’s foreign policy sensitivity.
Liberal-progressives’ use of NewSpeak reflects their secular, Darwinian doctrine that there is no divine source of knowledge, no independently evil conduct. There is, for them, merely John Dewey’s pragmatism: employing, in their case, whatever means may be required to impose socialist collectivism upon the United States. Subverting the English language and education are necessary steps to that ultimate goal.
Dewey’s pragmatism, a staple in liberal-progressive education, is simply Dostoevsky’s assertion that, “If God does not exist, everything is permitted.” Government then degenerates into Thomas Hobbe’s dictum that, if the ruler has sufficient power, he may use the fear of violent death to impose his will as the law of the land.
