Current distress in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Florida foreshadows what is happening to the United States under the President’s stimulus program and his socialist take-over budget.
Fiscal sin corrupts and destroys society. Our so-called educational system has, for three decades, taught students that the political state has limitless capacity to expand special-interest welfare-state handouts. Students are schooled to the conviction that governments exist solely to provide ever-expanding welfare handouts. (See Education for Slavery)
That mentality, avidly propagated by teachers’ unions, is a retread of Jean Jacques Rousseau’s 1762 Social Contract, a seminal document in the history of socialism. Rousseau hypothesized, as he admitted, without historical evidence, that society could be perfected and plenty of its goods and services would be available to all if socialists could restructure the political state. Needed was only to eliminate private property rights and to take from the rich, redistributing wealth as equally as possible.
This is the underlying religious-philosophical doctrine of the Obama administration.
The fruit of educators’ handiwork is now visible: three generations of economic ignoramuses who have no clue about the real source of a society’s wealth and well-being. Those economic ignoramuses (or cynical power seekers) now occupy executive and legislative posts in our city, state, and Federal governments. For them, as in Rousseau’s socialist garden of Eden, money grows on trees, ready for the plucking.
With more than half our citizens paying no Federal income tax, the welfare state appears to them to be free. Being ignorant of the true nature of economics and what produces the money to fund their cupidity, they are, perhaps irreparably, in an adversarial relationship with the people who save money and invest to build new businesses and to expand production capacity.
As in Rousseau’s time, liberal-progressives are, figuratively at least, roaming the streets looking for wealthy people to hang from the lamp posts for imagined sins against society.
